The Brothers Boyce and John McGroary – Delco’s Celtic Music Legends
The Brothers Boyce and John McGroary are a Philadelphia-based Irish-American traditional music trio deeply rooted in the musical heritage of County Donegal. Comprised of brothers Michael and John Boyce and their longtime friend John McGroary, the group blends the sounds of Ireland with their own distinctive style, honoring the spirit of their Donegal parents. Having first played together in renowned regional bands like Blackthorn and Tradpole, they became known for their tight musicianship, harmonies, and lively craíc. Over the years, they have performed across the U.S., Ireland, and beyond, gracing festivals, pubs, concert halls, and community gatherings, and sharing stages with celebrated artists such as Shane MacGowan, The Wolfe Tones, The Saw Doctors, Eileen Ivers, Little Feat, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Janis Ian, and Dolores Keane. Today, they continue to bring the energy of Donegal, the heart of Philadelphia’s Irish community, and a lifetime of musical camaraderie to every performance.
